Opening Visio 2013 Trial returns message "An unspecified error occurred"

I installed and used Visio successfully.  Today I received the message "An unspecified error occurred" when I tried to open the application.  The second window that appears when you select [okay] is that Microsoft Visio has stopped working.  I do not know how to resolve.  Any insight would be helpful.

Hi,

Try to start Visio in safe mode to check whether the issue is caused by some add-ins.

Also, check to see whether you have installed some update before the error. Uninstall the updates to check the issue.

Third, if the above two methods cannot solve the issue, try to start Windows in clean boot to check whether the issue is caused by some third party services.
